Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism

DVT and PE are both preventable and treatable conditions, and are in fact, the leading cause of preventable death in hospitalized patients in the US. This illustrated lecture examines deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism as well as their risk factors, signs, and treatment. It discusses the standard of care and risks/benefits to procedures as well as treatments that often lead to allegations of medical negligence. (Approximately 45 minutes total)
